New York Toasts Goodbye to 2012
It was a time for reflection and relaxation in New York as staffers gathered at the 7th floor Coffee Bar on Tuesday for an end-of-year get-together.
More than 100 employees took a moment to delight in drinks and appetizers as Dana Maiman, president, Draftfcb New York and CEO & president of Draftfcb Healthcare, reminded us that we have a lot to be proud of as an agency. But between the applause of new business wins, like Amtrak and Fidelity, and a record number of pitches in Healthcare, we had to acknowledge the downside – most recently, the shooting in Newtown, Connecticut which has shaken up the nation, and that many East coast residents are still recuperating from the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. Maiman shared that the proceeds from November’s Coffee Bar sales, approximately $6,000, will be donated to The Red Cross, Sandy Relief Fund.
Amidst the disasters, there still is much to celebrate, including a renewed hope for good things to come in 2013. And, we finished the year on a lighter, happier note. Two drawings were held for a free trip to SeaWorld and Busch Gardens theme parks. Our New York winners include Carrie Werbler, digital traffic manager, who will be visiting SeaWorld, Orlando, and Gavin Valle, VP, group copy supervisor, who will be soaking in the sun in Busch Gardens, Tampa.
Congrats to our winners, and happy holidays to everyone at Draftfcb. Wherever you are, here’s to a joyous and festive season and a prosperous new year!
